Liz Owen -Assistant Teacher
Liz brings a diverse background to the 2.5-year-old classroom. She holds a bachelor's degree from Berklee College of Music and a graduate degree from Emerson College. Over the years, she has held a variety of roles, including veterinary technician, restaurant manager, copywriter at The Record newspaper, and crossfit gym owner. She became a substitute teacher when her own children attended LEAP together eight years ago, and this is her third year in her current role.
Her wide-ranging experiences give her a unique perspective on connecting with children and creating a fun, engaging learning environment. She lives in Ramsey with her husband, two kids, two dogs, one fish, and a crayfish -- the latter adopted from her daughter’s 4th-grade classroom three years ago, shocking everyone with its tenacious longevity.
In her free time, she loves hiking, capturing nature through photography, and, of course, singing whenever she can. When singing isn’t an option, you might just hear her whistling while she works!
